Hiking and Pedicures

Yesterday I hiked to the top of Cerro San Cristobal with my co-worker Daniela and a few of her Chilean friends. The hike was about 6 miles roundtrip, and it was a great day! The weather was just perfect – nice and warm with a refreshing breeze. You may remember that I went to the top of Cerro San Cristobal a few weeks ago via the funicular (tram-type thing). Hiking to the top was definitely a great experience, and I would say it is something you shouldn’t miss out on if you ever visit Santiago. There were tons of cyclists, runners, walkers, and just lots of people outside enjoying the day. I took a few pictures, but the smog was really bad yesterday so they didn’t turn out very well.

Daniela and I at the top of the hill (and a random lady on the left). We are looking rough because we just walked 3 miles uphill! I wore orange all day yesterday in honor of the Tigers!

Do you see the Andes Mountains? No...you can't because of the smog...it's just terrible

I work in the tall building on the left. It is currently the tallest building in Santiago. The one on the right is under construction, and when they finish it will be the tallest building in Santiago.

Last night, one of the expat wives here had a Minx party. You may be wondering what Minx is. Well, it is a special manicure/pedicure that is really popular with celebrities. My friend’s wife just started the first Minx business in Chile, and yesterday was her open house.

The Minx application lasts for weeks or months and it doesn’t chip at all – the only reason you ever have to remove it is when your nails start to grow out. I got my toes done, and my pedicure was actually a birthday gift for me from my friend Lindsay. If you’re interested, check out the Minx website – there are some pretty crazy things you can get done to your nails.

At the party with my pedicure birthday gift...and still wearing orange...Go Tigers!!

My toes are metallic pink...the picture doesn't do it justice!

Well, today is my birthday so I’m about to head out with some of my friends from work for dinner. I will be sure to take some pictures and update the blog again early this week. Hope everyone is having a great day!

Ciao!
